The Brouhaha Of Primetime TV (PART 2)




















We continue our previous blog regrading our observations on your favorite primetime telenovelas.

4) HEAVY PROMOTIONS- This is how noontime shows do their best. Create a grand launch for a soap opera composed of a bunch of singers, dancers, and the whole cast itself. And it does not stop there, you go round the different shows and put moving graphics below the screen to promote the soap opera. Now that's what you call "too much".

5)SPIN- OFFS- Have you ever noticed that some of our favorite soap operas on primetime tv are spin-offs from movies, songs, or even foreign telenovelas. Which means we have a creativity crisis here.

6)THE "ONE-LINER" TITLES- PANGAKO SA IYO, MAY BUKAS PA, TAYONG DALAWA. These good examples of "one-liners" make a mark to every tv audience. Why don't we try this: NGAYON AT KAILANMAN, HINDI KITA IIWAN DAHIL NANDITO AKO PARA SA 'YO AT MAMAHALIN KITA NG TUNAY AT WALANG HALONG PAGKUKUNWARI AT NG BUONG KATAPATAN (catches some breath).

And as I end this post, I hope that somebody would end this brouhaha. It's not funny anymore.
